Other Power Metal Bands

Shamefully, my friends and family really don't know anything about power metal. Dragonforce is more or less the only power metal band they know. So I'm alone in that regard, but I can deal with it, because at least I don't have to share.

Everyone has some great examples here, especially Blind Guardian and Kamelot. My favorite power metal groups (that weren't mentioned) are Hammerfall, Dream Evil, Gamma Ray, White Skull, Angra, Sinergy, Iced Earth, and...does Symphony X count?

And Hammerfall, Gamma Ray, Angra and Iced Earth are really great bands

How is this a Power Metal thread and NO mention of Helloween! Creators of Power Metal!
Besides Helloween, some bands I like: Iced Earth, Gamma Ray, Rhapsody(without fire please), Savage Circus, Blind Guardian, Tierra Santa, Vision Divine, Galneryus, Sex Machineguns, Vrain, Powerglove, ARMCANNON, Stratovaius among others.

Therion is not Power Metal, it is a strange combination of Symphonic/Gothic/Doom/Something. And they began as a Death Metal band, hehe.

I like: Hammerfall, Dragonforce, Dio (if you consider that PW), in that order. I also like Fairyland, Dragonland, sonata arctica, etc.

Not power metal.. but Eluveitie is a really good band that i think most here would like.

Elvenking is good, the Hobs songs especially.

well ummm Fairyalnd is #1 on my list

Turisas is preety good but it tires and They suk live

Rhapsodys nice.In my faves

Melodius is new and it sonds preety sweet

Amberian Dawn is good but they only have like 3 songs worth hearing more than once in their debut album

Symphony X is good too.Theirs always something nice in each of their Albums

Kamelot is actually kinda good but not something I would listen too much.

Sonata Arctica is also i my faves.Almos evry song from them is good.Im not a ballad fan but theirs are preety good

Dragonforce....ehhh.....notthat bad but not that good.If you wanna feel some energy tthen this is a great choice but ull get tired eventually

Dragonland,been awhiile scince I hear them but Ive always liked their style for some reason.Not the best but good

Nightwish is also good.Their old style was better but their new singers preety cool

Epica is good but their isnt much style in them.Ive only listened to like 2 of their songs and thats enough for me to say that

Dark Moor is also good but It also gets boring after a few hears

Blind Guardian is kewl.i dont listen to it much but I like it

Stratovarius is nice too.Polaris is preety good but it couldve been better

Celesty is a nice band.They sound like Sonata Arctica to me

Angra is preety cool too.Its rare to find such talent in Brazil.Exept Aquaria,they also have a preety cool and traditional style of Power Metal
